Each of the 10 suites in the Pousada is individually decorated and features unique pieces of furniture made from reclaimed timber. All suites have a private veranda with a hammock, giving a stunning view over the bay dotted with fishing boats; queen-size bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, shower and hair dryer; telephone, minibar; satellite TV, DVD/CD/MP3 and WiFi internet connection. Some suites have hydromassage bath or normal bath, bathrobes for use of guests during stay; cable TV LCD 32 inch TV with SKY, music centre, in-room safety deposit box. Access for disabled guests.

The Ilha de Toque Toque Boutique Hotel accepts the following credit cards: American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa. An advance booking payment is required: 100% if payment made by credit card, or a 50% deposit via bank transfer, balance to be paid not less than 3 days before date of arrival.
Cancellation policy
If reservations are cancelled more than 15 days prior to arrival, a refund of the deposit less bank charges will be made. Cancellations made between 14 and 2 days before arrival will attract a 25% penalty; reservations cancelled within 2 days of arrival will not be refunded. Local time zone applies: GMT -4.
Restaurants, bars, room service
Breakfast served wherever you prefer in the hotel. Lunch and dinner served in the hotel restaurant overlooking the sea, no charge for one child under 5, open 12:00-22:00. Local products in season feature in the hotel cuisine, many of them grown at the Pousada, including fruit and vegetables unfamiliar to the European palate. Varied menu, fish and seafood are a speciality, and in winter the traditional feijoada is on the menu daily. Selection of Portuguese wines. Sauna bar. Picnic area with tables.

GARDENS: The gardens of the Hotel Ilha de Toque Toque are an ideal venue for anniversary celebrations, family occasions and business meetings, max 120 guests.
BEACH: The hotel´s private beach is a delightful setting for unusual and beautiful weddings and receptions for up to 150 guests. The 900 m2 private beach area has an exclusive exit from the Hotel Toque Toque and is surrounded with flowers and trees. Additional facilities are a kitchen and two bathrooms.
PHOTOSHOOTS: The landscapes, sunsets and quality of light in the area provide an ideal venue for fashion photoshoots.

Dress code
Brazilians, even in the major cities, dress casually outside the office. In and around the hotel, dress in an informal way geared to spending time in the open. Take with you at all times sun cream, lip salve, insect repellent, bottled water and cereal or dry biscuits. Wear a hat, lightweight clothes, walking shoes and thick socks.
Special advice
Animals: Small fruit bats live in the Atlantic coastal region and are protected by law. They sometimes roost in the roof timbers of buildings, but they are completely harmless and represent no danger. When out walking, admire the animals from a distance. The use of skin repellent is recommended to avoid the attentions of black flies and mosquitoes. Climate: Damp tropical climate, temperature 18-31 degrees all year round. Seasons are the opposite of those in Europe. Spring: 22 September to 21 December; summer: 22 December to 21 March; autumn: 22 March to 21 June; winter: 22 June to 21 September.
Area of property
Toque Toque Grande is an old fishing village, one of the few remaining villages in the area where fish are caught in the traditional way, there are no boutiques or condos and the streets are still unpaved. Behind the beaches lies a mostly protected area of mountainous terrain with a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and coastal rainforest with Atlantic flora, waterfalls and cascades. The hotel is 16 km from the city of Sao Sebastiao and 200 km from the state capital of Sao Paulo.

Nearest airport
São Paulo has two main airports: Aeropuerto de Guarulhos for international flights, and Aeropuerto de Congonhas for domestic and regional flights. A third airport, the Campo de Marte, serves light aircraft and helicopters. São Paulo is 190 km/3 hrs from the Ilha de Toque Toque Boutique Hotel.
Excursions
São Sebastião, 16 km/20 mins from the Pousada, has a XVI century historical town centre with colonial buildings grouped around the church. For dining, partying and people-spotting, join the eclectic crowd at Maresias beach and Sirena night club. Take the frequent ferry from São Sebastião over to the island of Ilhabela; its many waterfalls and pretty beaches make a great day visit, and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from.
